Availability

Org admins. Invitations are available on every plan.

Who can use this: Org admin only. See Roles.

Inviting people

  1. An Org admin opens Organization > Invitations.
  2. Enter the person's email, pick one or more roles and send the invitation.

Prodgator sends the invitation email. It expires after 7 days. Inviting people does not cost anything by itself: members and Viewers are unlimited, and a paid plan bills for active contributors, the people who open or push to pull requests or start pipeline runs (see Billing). Sending and revoking invitations is recorded in the audit log.

People get the roles picked in the invitation, including a custom role: Prodgator applies them the first time they sign in and records it in the audit log. If an Org admin already set their roles in Organization > Members before then, those roles are kept.

Changing roles

Org configuration lives on the Organization page (at the bottom of the sidebar, or ). It holds the organization-wide settings: General, Identity, Billing, Integrations, Notifications (organization delivery and webhooks), API keys, AI and the Audit log. The Admin Console is a different tool, for the people who run the Prodgator platform only. For members:

  • Members: assign or remove roles, suspend and reactivate members. A member can hold several roles.
  • Roles: the six built-in roles (Viewer, Developer, Release manager, Security, Compliance and Org admin), plus custom roles on the Business plan and above (see Custom roles and Roles).
  • Invitations: invite people by email with roles, see pending invitations and revoke them.
  • Audit log: role changes, invitations and other Org admin actions (Enterprise plan). Compliance can open this section too.

A member with several roles can do everything any of their roles allows, plus any extra permissions their custom roles add. There is no ranking: Security and Compliance include neither each other nor Developer, Release manager covers what Developer can do, and Org admin holds every permission.
