Choose the language Prodgator uses, see which languages are machine translated, and learn what the organization default does.

Prodgator is available in English, Spanish (Español), French (Français), Brazilian Portuguese (Português, Brasil) and European Portuguese (Português, Portugal).

Choose your language

Open your profile (user menu, then Profile), go to Preferences and pick a language. You can also change it from the language list in the user menu. The choice is saved to your profile and applies to the app, to dates, numbers and sorting, and to AI answers you ask for.

Until you choose, Prodgator starts in your organization's default language if it has one, and otherwise in the language of your browser. If your browser language is not one Prodgator offers, it uses English.

Machine translated languages

French, Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese are translated by machine. They are labeled Machine translated in the language list and in Preferences. Some wording may be off. English is always available, and wording is replaced as fluent reviewers check it.

Spanish was reviewed by people.

Organization default language

An organization admin can set a default language under Organization, General. Setting it does not change anyone who already picked a language. It is used for:

  • The starting language of members who have not chosen one.
  • Slack channel posts.
  • The human-readable text of outgoing webhooks (a new field says which language; codes and ids are unchanged).
  • Pull request comments, check run output, commit status descriptions and approval comments Prodgator posts on your provider. Changing the default rewrites the existing comment in place on the next evaluation; nothing is backfilled.
  • Shared AI results (see below).

Emails and Slack direct messages to a member use that member's own language, else the default. With no default set, English is used.

AI answers and translated results

AI answers you ask for (Ask, dashboard widgets, policy drafts) follow your own language in Profile > Preferences.

Shared results are written once, in the organization default language: failure explanations, release risk summaries and security triage. If your language differs, the first time you open one Prodgator translates it with Amazon Translate. It shows "Translating...", then the translation with Show original / Show translation. Translations are cached and use no AI credits. If translation is not available, or the organization reached its daily limit of 500 translations, you see the original with a short note.

Code, commands, file paths, identifiers and product names are kept as written. Evidence lines are never translated.

What stays in English

Check names (, ), status keys, comment markers, policy names, and the codes and ids in webhooks do not change with any language setting.

Sign-in pages

The sign-in, sign-up and password reset pages are shown by WorkOS and follow your browser's language, not the Prodgator setting. Someone who chose Spanish in Prodgator on an English browser sees English there.
