Share, edit and limit AI widgets
Who can see a widget you built from a prompt, how to change it, and the limits that apply.
Availability
A widget you build from a prompt starts private. This page covers sharing it, changing it, and what it cannot do.
Creating, sharing and editing widgets
Privacy
Widgets are private to their creator by default. Only you can see your private widgets.
Organization editors and admins can share widgets with the rest of the organization. A shared widget appears on everyone's dashboard but follows each viewer's permissions:
- A widget showing security findings shows each viewer only the findings they can see.
- A widget showing deployments to a deployment environment shows only the deployments that viewer can see.
Maximum widgets
- 20 private widgets per person
- 50 shared widgets per organization
Editing widgets
Click the edit icon on a widget card to:
- Change the widget title and description.
- Change the prompt and generate the widget again.
- Adjust the widget specification for fine-grained control.
Explaining a widget
Click Explain this widget (or the info icon) to read the widget specification in plain language: what data the widget shows and how it is filtered and grouped.
Widget limits
- Time range: limited to your plan's data retention, and to 90 days at most.
- Records per widget: Prodgator scans at most 20,000 items. If a query would return more, the widget is cut short and says so.
- Result cache: results are cached for 5 minutes, so refreshing right after creating a widget shows the cached result.
- Complexity: one group-by plus optional time buckets. Several groupings and formulas are not supported.
What widgets cannot do
- Read data Prodgator does not store (test counts, coverage, cost).
- Join or correlate data across sources.
- Generate code or raw queries.
- Chart more than 20,000 records.
- Run formulas or complex calculations.
Widget feedback and regeneration
If a generated widget is not what you wanted:
- Click the regenerate icon to generate it again from the same prompt.
- Edit the prompt and regenerate to say more precisely what you want.
- Edit the specification directly to change specific settings.
Data privacy
Widget specifications are stored in Prodgator for as long as your plan keeps dashboard data. Prodgator does not share widget specifications or results with outside services.
The AI model never sees your data when it writes a widget specification. Only your prompt and the list of data sources and fields are sent. Prodgator then checks the specification and runs it against your organization's data.
