AI credits and limits
How the monthly AI credit allowance works, credit packs, and the per-minute request limits.
Availability
AI credits and monthly allowance
Each AI action has a fixed credit price. Your monthly AI credit allowance resets on the 1st of each month (UTC) and grows with the number of contributors you are billed for:
- Business: 25 credits per billed contributor, at least 1,000 credits per month
- Enterprise: 40 credits per billed contributor, at least 5,000 credits per month
For example, a Business plan billed for 60 contributors gets 1,500 credits a month. The allowance follows the billed number on your subscription, not the live count, so it changes when your bill does: at a monthly renewal, or when a yearly commitment goes up.
Your current credit usage is shown in Admin Console > AI, with the credits used and the credits left until the next reset.
Credit packs
When the monthly allowance is not enough, an admin can buy credit packs in Admin Console > AI > Buy credits. A pack is 1,000 credits, a one-time payment through Stripe, and you can buy up to 20 packs at a time.
- Pack credits are used only after the monthly allowance runs out, oldest pack first.
- Each pack expires 12 months after the payment goes through. Unused credits in an expired pack are lost.
- Admin Console > AI shows the credits left in each pack and when it expires. A new pack shows up within a minute of payment.
- Credit packs are available on Business and Enterprise.
An action runs only when enough credits remain for its full price. Just before Prodgator calls the model, it reserves the action's full price from the monthly allowance (and, when that is used up, from your credit packs) in a single step, so several requests running at the same time can never spend more than the allowance. When the answer is saved, the reservation becomes the charge. If the request fails before the model answers, is skipped, or is retried later, the reserved credits are returned, to the pack they came from when they came from a pack. While requests are running, Admin Console > AI shows the credits they are holding.
When the allowance and any credit packs run out, new AI requests are skipped with a message until the next reset. Unused allowance credits do not carry over; pack credits last until the pack expires. Answers reused from the cache, or reused for the same failure pattern, cost nothing and reserve nothing. A request that the model refuses still costs its price, because the model was called.
Ask Prodgator
A message that only used the docs costs 1 AI credit. A message that looked up your data costs 1 credit plus 1 per data lookup, at most 3. Details: Ask Prodgator.
Request limits
To keep one person or one busy moment from using up the month's credits, Prodgator limits how often AI answers can be requested. The limits count requests to generate or regenerate an answer (failure explanations and widget generation) in each minute:
| Plan | Per organization | Per person |
|---|---|---|
| Business | 30 per minute | 10 per minute |
| Enterprise | 120 per minute | 30 per minute |
A request over either limit is refused with a message that says how many seconds to wait. Nothing is charged for a refused request. Failure explanations that Prodgator creates automatically when a run fails do not count toward these limits.
