Gate list
Admins use the Gates tab to:
- Create and edit gates with New gate.
- Link deployment environments to them.
- Manage promotion order.
- Attach release policies and approver groups.
- Configure approval settings and notification routing.
Old links under and open Policies.
One gate
Click a gate to open its page. Besides its settings, linked deployment environments, exclusions and policies, the page has a Deployments section with that gate's own Awaiting approval, Active and History tabs, so you can approve, reject and roll back its releases there.
Deployment tabs
Awaiting approval, Active and History list deployments across all gates and deployment environments:
- Awaiting approval: deployments waiting on a gate, split into Needs Prodgator approval and Awaiting approval from GitHub reviewers. Select several to approve or reject them in bulk.
- Active: approved or in progress.
- History: finished deployments. Filter by Deployed, Failed, Rejected, Rolled Back, Cancelled or Bypassed.
Use the Gate or environment picker to narrow them to:
- one gate,
- one deployment environment, shown as , or
- every environment with one name, shown as Every environment named ... (under By name, in every repository).
The choice stays when you switch between these tabs. On Overview, a column header opens the gate (or every environment with that name), and a pending count in a row opens that row's own deployment environment.
Old links and bookmarks keep working:
- Anything under (the page's old address) opens the same tab, gate or policy under , with the same filters and approval.
- The Deployments page (, ) and the retired Pipelines Environments view () open Awaiting approval (or Active or History when the link named that tab), keeping the environment and the approval they pointed at.
- An old link that named an environment () still lists every environment with that name.
A notification about a deployment opens Awaiting approval when it waits for approval and otherwise the History of that deployment's own deployment environment.
From Pipelines
Runs waiting on an approval also show on the Pipelines page with the Awaiting approval status, and you can answer them there.
In Pipelines, an environment name in a run's row opens the run's own deployment environment (its repository, workflow and environment) picked out at the top of the Gates tab: the gates it belongs to, and links to its Awaiting approval and History, plus a separate link to every environment with the same name. The waiting environment's name under a run's Approve and Reject buttons goes to the same place, and History under a run's deployments opens that deployment environment's history only.
